Why Values are Important to me?

Values have always played a central role in my life and upbringing. Long before I stepped into entrepreneurship, I was entrusted with the responsibility of managing an entire institute in my previous organization.
I was given this responsibility because of my strong work ethic and consistent results that reflected in our students’ performance. While I was able to make the institute profitable and drive positive outcomes, I slowly realized that my personal values did not align with those of my employer.
I believed in keeping promises and delivering on commitments, but the same wasn’t always shared by my employer. This difference often challenged my sense of purpose and integrity. There were moments I questioned my own decisions especially the choice to leave my previous stable job to take on this new responsibility.
Yet, I chose to stand by my principles.
As time went on, a change in workplace dynamics brought additional challenges when a newly hired member close to the employer created an increasingly toxic environment. Even then, I stayed focused on my work, driven by a commitment to give my best and uphold the positive culture I had helped build.
Then came COVID. Circumstances changed, and I decided to move forward with my entrepreneurial dream IDALS. From day one, I was clear about one thing that my company would be built on strong values.
Five years later, as I look back, the journey has had its share of setbacks, betrayals, and losses. Yet, what gives me peace today is knowing that I stayed true to my core - to ethics, honesty, and integrity, even when outcomes didn’t always go as planned.
I made decisions I believed were right, even when they were tough. I focused on creating a healthy and respectful environment for my small team of 4–5 people, and I carried forward every lesson from my past into my leadership approach.
In the end, I have learned that success isn’t just about results - it’s about staying true to your values no matter how uncertain the journey gets.
Sharing this as a small reflection amid my ongoing journey in data science and machine learning because no matter where we go or what we learn, it’s our values that keep us grounded.
